A Love Affair with Money

Throughout our life, most of us have had a love/hate relationship with money. I believe it’s important to have a loving relationship with money and what better way than to have a love affair with money. Many of us say we love money; but when we get it, we can’t keep it, or we can’t let go of it. Either way, we don’t have a balanced loving relationship with money.

To examine your beliefs and values about money, – where you are now and where you want to be – envision a first date with “Money”. Let’s imagine you are going on match.com to find your ideal money mate. You are very anxious to develop a relationship with this energetic source of joy.

Now that you’ve chosen to enroll in finding this money source, you can move to the next level of developing a relationship. Before you start a love affair, you must go on a first date. Let’s create a fantasy conversation with “Money”.

Imagine, you’re meeting at a restaurant for your first date. You are feeling a little nervous. You introduce yourself and start with small talk. As the date progresses, Money starts to ask you some deeper questions. “Why do you want to be with me? What do you value about me? How do you talk to me when I’m with you? How do you talk about me when I’m not there? How do you plan to keep me interested and coming back to you?”

I have done this scenario with groups where one person is Money and the other person is on the date with Money and answering the questions. It brings up a lot of emotion and deep subconscious thoughts. To understand your relationship with money, you need to tap into the many feelings, fears and beliefs that are deep within you.

Abundance is a natural state. There is no shortage except in your own mind. When you apply the principles of receiving, infinite love and money is potentially available to all. Your relationship to money is connected to all your relationships. Wealth is not just about money, it is a state of mind. It involves being rich in every area of your life including your work, financial, relationships, family, health, and spiritual life. Wealth comes from understanding and engaging the emotions behind the money. As my sister, the CPA, says, “Every decision we make . . . has financial ramifications.”

I choose to live in joy with the abundance of love and money in my life. As I deepen my love affair and relationship with money, a new Adventure begins . . .

The Hundredth Monkey

The hundredth monkey phenomenon refers to a sudden spontaneous and mysterious leap of consciousness achieved when an allegedly “critical mass” point is reached. Even though there is really no evidence for the hundredth monkey phenomenon, I believe when critical mass occurs, the world comes to a crossroads. At this point, there is a new awareness, and a field is strengthened so that this awareness is picked up by almost everyone. I experienced this phenomenon and it was magical.

It was spring of 2006 and I had just joined a businesswomen’s group in Washington D.C. The group met four times a year and the members were from different parts of the country. They were highly successful in their businesses. I remember walking into the first meeting feeling a little intimidated by these powerful women. They were genuinely nice and welcoming and asked about my business. I had just launched the Core Passion Assessment a few years earlier and was consulting with small businesses. After I told them about my business, they were very nice and said that it was interesting, but I could tell they weren’t really interested. At that time, no one was talking about passion in business.

Later that spring I even went to Greece to an international businesswomen’s conference. Again, everyone liked me but did not really take what I was doing seriously. In July, I again went to Washington D.C. for a conference. The weather was hot and steamy, and during our free time I got the opportunity to personally know many of the women. I loved talking to them and I learned it does not matter how much money you make; the challenges of life and business are the same. They were very successful, but they had the same problems as everyone else.

In 2006, Stephen Covey published his book, The Eighth Habit. In this book, he was one of the first influential people to talk about passion in business. He said when you engage in work that taps your talent and fuels your passion, you find your voice, your calling, your soul’s code. Until that time, passion and business were never talked about in the same sentence.

By the fall of 2006, I felt a distinct difference in how people responded to my work. They were extremely interested and wanted to know more. What changed? I was not saying anything different but the awareness about passion in business must have hit critical mass. I doubt everyone had read his book but there was a change in the air.

Within the eight months from spring until fall of 2006, the energy shifted and passion moved with a mysterious leap into the consciousness of business. I was excited because I was finally taken seriously.

When an unexplained phenomenon happens, we try to find a credible reason. I believe Stephen Covey’s book was one of the prompters of passion in business. I also believe it was time and the universe worked its magic to make it happen! A new Adventure began for me and it continues today!

Gift of the Manifestation Code

Bringing unrelated things together at the crossroads is where innovation happens. It’s the magic of people coming into our life at just the right time. It was the unlikely pairing of technology and passion that resulted in the Manifestation Code.

I met Rias van Wyk, technology expert from South Africa, when he was a professor in the Management of Technology Master’s program. My business partner used my business as the subject of her master thesis. There were a few professors including Rias that sat on the jury to judge all of the theses. At the judging, a couple of the professors questioned the work of Core Passion and its validity. These professors were world famous leaders in technology and I was bringing something new to the world for them to judge that was not technology. The lesson for me was to stay in my truth and believe in what I had created. The thesis ultimately passed with a good grade.

Rias had just finished writing his book on the theory of technology describing matter, energy and information and their interrelationship. He called it a Unifying Code. He ultimately became a client and got to experience the Core Passion Assessment, not just read about it. It was at that intersection that two different fields, technology and passion, came together.

He gave me the gift of the Manifestation Code . . . M = I + E².

Rias told me that his work in technology was the same concept I worked with in a creative human context. Rias’ formula breaks through old paradigms and beliefs by connecting to the natural flow of creation. M is the manifested matter.

I is the identified intention. E² is the fuel (emotion) used to manifest. Conscious manifesting requires a very high-octane fuel. I call this high-octane fuel Core Passion. It’s the energy that drives you to do what you do and go where you’ve never gone before. This formula has been unconsciously and consciously used since the beginning of time. It is the formula of creation.

What I intuitively knew, Rias put into a formula that others could believe and gave it to me as a gift. We all have unique words of wisdom to give to the world. When we believe, amazing things happen! My business partner and I wrote a paper about the Manifestation Code, How Manifestation, Emotion, and Intention Equate with the Theory of Technology. This paper was chosen to be read at a global technology conference in Washington, D.C. I am not in technology and yet, I was at a conference with technology experts from around the world. My technology business partner read the paper and it was amazingly well received.

If the energy of passion can intersect with technology, then anything is possible! It’s time to bring our new thoughts and concepts to the world. The question becomes, “What do you want to manifest?” Everything starts as a thought to create our reality. With every new manifestation . . . a new Adventure begins!

Fear can stop us in our tracks or propel us into our future. Fear can trap us with negative energies from the past. It can also be the impetus to drive us into our destiny. Fear is imagining something that hasn’t happened yet. This overactive imagination results in uneasiness, anxiety, and worry that comes from the unknown.

In the northern hemisphere, March is the month of the spring equinox which means equality of night and day. Spring reminds me of moving into a new state of being. We are waking up and emerging into light after the dark of winter. At the equinox, there is a balance of dark and light. We need to be in the dark to know the light. Sometimes we want to stay in the dark, so we don’t have to face our new future.

I have been at the crossroad of fear at different times in my life. I grew up in the energy of fear. My mother was a strong, take charge person, and did not look like a fearful person. But underneath she had many fears, especially of being alone. Growing up in this loving home I was very fortunate to have had no actual physical experiences of fear. Yet in my early adult years, I still sensed and carried my mother’s fear.

Many years ago, I was at the crossroads of encountering my intense fear. There was a woman raped and badly beaten a few blocks from where I lived with my young family. My fear was no longer underneath but rose to the surface with a vengeance. I stayed in my fear for several days not wanting to even leave my house. I felt powerless. I knew this was not how I wanted to live. It was time for me to move my fears into the light. It was time to balance my dark fears with the light of confidence.

An inner voice message came to me. I need to take karate to learn how to defend myself. I was the least likely person to study karate. I had never been in a physical fight and was not active in sports. I knew nothing about martial arts. I truly felt propelled into my new fearless future. I found my first karate teacher and learned many new things about myself. I started to see myself as strong and powerful. First in my inner being, then in my physical body. I learned how to use my energy and become aware of my environment. I learned how to kick through boards and break bricks and how to fight. Once I learned how to fight, I also learned that I didn’t have to fight to be confident and powerful.

It took me seven years to earn my black belt in karate. Now if the dark of fear comes into my life, I remember that I can balance it with my light of confidence. Spring is a new Adventure of love and light!

To walk with fearless passion, you must first walk through your fear! The dictionary says fear is an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. Many times, the emotion of fear is caused by the anticipation of something that could happen in the future. Passion is also a strong deep feeling. Passion is an irrational but irresistible motive for something that is desired intensely.

To walk through the fear, you first come to a crossroads. You must focus on what you want that lives on the other side of your fear as you walk through the crossroads. The word fearless means to be free of fear, to be brave. Embracing passion will give you the courage and drive to walk through your fear.

I had the honor and privilege to be included in the book, Fearless Women Fearless Wisdom. Forty extraordinary fearless women were photographed with a sword by Mary Ann Halpin, a famous Hollywood photographer. I have a sword hanging in my office that is inscribed with the words, “Fearlessly passionate – Lori”. To me, the symbol of the sword means unconquerable courage to fight the good fight and then lay down the sword in peace.

Mary Ann’s passion is to be the fearless messenger. The book is a collection of the photos and stories of how each woman walked through her fear to become fearless.The book was published and scheduled to be released at a conference in Dallas, Texas. I received my first copy of the book the day before I was to leave for the conference. I did not know most of the women in the book but there was a special luncheon scheduled for us to meet each other in Dallas. In the busyness of getting ready for the trip, I didn’t get a chance to read the stories about each woman until I was on the plane. As I read the stories, tears came to my eyes and I was in awe of the journey traveled by each of these amazing women.As we met and listened to each other’s story at the luncheon, a bond started to form. You could feel the energy in the room start to connect us all in a bond of sisterhood. I don’t think any of us anticipated the emotion and feelings that resulted from that initial meeting. We recognized the light and fearless inspiration in each other. It was a powerful meeting!In the book, each one of us shared a Fearless Wisdom to give to the world. I know the fearless passion that drives me are my Fearless Wisdom words. “When you know WHO you are, you know WHAT to do.” In our fear driven world, those who know who they are and walk with fearless passion are an inspiration and light to others. We are the peaceful warriors that can change the world. A new journey waits for all who are ready. It’s time for each one of us to walk with fearless passion.The Adventure begins . . .

My adventure with ostriches taught me two powerful lessons . . . I learned we create our reality and when we believe, we can create anything we want. Even more important, I learned that you can’t live someone else’s dream.

It was over twenty-five years ago that my former husband and I sold everything and bought a hundred acre farm to start an ostrich ranch! We moved from the city to a farm about fifty miles away. I grew up in the city and never thought of myself as living in the country. My husband grew up on a farm and always wanted to move back to the country but couldn’t figure out a way to make money farming. He was a computer programmer and had a good job in the city.

At the state fair a year earlier, he met some people that raised ostriches. It was a fledging industry still in the speculative breeder’s market stage. As with any new venture, if you get in early there is the potential to make a lot of money. At that time, we met some people who had made millions and they believed that the breeder’s market stage would last another ten years. At that time, one ostrich egg was selling for $3,000 and a pair of breeding ostriches were selling for $75,000.

For a year, we researched and finally decided this was something we should do. I could see how happy this made my husband. It could fulfill his dream to be in the country and have a business that could make money. I’ve always been an entrepreneur and I got excited about the business prospects of this new industry. I didn’t realize at the time that this was never my dream. It was always his dream and I made it happen.

We had money to buy the farm but we didn’t have enough money to start the ostrich business. We needed an investor. We sold our paid off home in the city and moved to the farm believing we would find an investor. In my mind, it was so clear. I could see the person who would invest in us. He would be a millionaire who had a fascination with ostriches. But at that time, I didn’t know any millionaires. I believed the picture I saw in my mind even though it was so unrealistic that it could happen. The millionaire finally showed up in my life and he became our investor!

Within three years, the market changed and that $75,000 pair of breeding ostriches was worth $7,500. Ultimately, this dream wasn’t sustainable, so we sold everything and moved back to the city.

These two lessons were some of the most important things I have learned in my life. First, I know that I can create whatever I want! Second and most important, I know I must live my own dream!

My life is now a continuous amazing Adventure!

Questions at the Crossroads

Have you ever felt a sense of tension for no apparent reason? When a path closes and one stage of our lives is complete, we come to a crossroads. Approaching the crossroads, the inner stirrings begin. Something doesn’t feel quite right. You can’t put your finger on it, but you have a sense of impending change. During this time of uneasiness, you might have feelings of boredom, flights of fantasy (running away), anxiety, depression, or even physical disease. You might feel paralyzed, like a deer in headlights – you know something is coming, but you can’t get out of the way. Then one day, you don’t even know who you are. You used to know, but now you’re not so sure.

When a path closes, it can feel like we’re dying because our identities are threatened. When it happened to me, the stories about how I saw myself didn’t fit anymore; but I didn’t have any new ones to replace them. The questions came first. Who am I? What am I here to do? What is my purpose? Questions can be dangerous – they require tremendous courage to ask because new questions lead to new ways of perceiving. All new and original thought begins with a question, which leads to exploration.

For most of my life, I have always been busy doing. I realized that if I was going to find those lost parts of myself, I would have to be quiet and listen to the whispering of my soul and just be. Many times, just before we come to the crossroads, we fill our lives with busyness, so we don’t have to listen to that little voice whispering in our ears. I had no idea how it would look, but I felt driven to find out why I was here and what I was supposed to do.

When I stopped and began listening, my inner voice started to answer those questions I had never been able to voice before. I believe we always have choices and now I had to choose. Did I want to stay in the rut, believing I must be who I always had been? Or, do I take the risk to discover how to live following my passion and purpose? It was my choice – to stay in the pain of procrastination or to move into the possibilities of passion.

I began to understand the cycles of life. I recognized that we move from tradition to transition (crossroads) to transformation. Ultimately, transformation becomes tradition, and the cycle continues. I learned that you can’t get from tradition to transformation without spending time in transition (being at the crossroads).

Now I welcome coming to a crossroads because I know it will move me into the passion of transformation. When I feel the inner stirrings begin, I am gentle with myself as I process feelings of uncertainty, doubt, and impending change. Transition, life at the crossroads, is easier when you know there is a process with a resolution so that you can move into your transformation with confidence, clarity, and acceptance.

I feel very close to my family and of course, my family extends beyond the bloodline to all my friends, clients, and acquaintances. I get overwhelmed when I understand that it is my commitment to share my wisdom with everyone in need. I value my family and become very protective is someone or something threatens their safety.

Sometimes I feel my role is to heal everyone that is feeling pain. I know my words and touch provide nurturing, encouragement, and healing. It seems like my role in life is to be the counselor for people in struggle. In my dreams, I travel the world and share my gift of healing with everyone I meet.

My joy comes when I awaken the spirit in others. Connecting people to their spirit is the key to many answers. I know the spirit within is the driving force that we are all searching for. Nurturing the spirit through meditation, quiet walks, and journaling is necessary to keep the spirit connected.

I value giving more than receiving. My fantasy is to give everyone everything they need. I find myself working endless hours doing things for others. I seldom think of my own needs and I must remember that I exist here on the planet also.

I have a knowing that a higher order of life exists. It feels like I have a circle of counselors that surround me in another dimension. Oftentimes, I know the answer to questions and I can’t explain where the answer came from. People tell me that I daydream frequently. This may be true but I feel I’m living in two different worlds.

When I am confronted with chaos all around me, I go to a quiet spot within and look at the blueprint of the situation. Then I merely put things in their proper place. I see chaos as swirling energy in the process of creating. My gift is the ability to anchor this energy.

I have knowingness that we are not here alone. I know there is a higher force watching over us. My life evolves as I connect to this higher force and work in harmony with everything I do. Weaving the seen with the unseen is my gift.

Everything starts with a creative vision. My gift is taking a vision and applying practical methods to achieve results. My ability to connect to the higher order gives me guidance as I work with creativity and make it real. I bring creativity into form.

I know there is always a bigger picture and a higher order involved in the obvious. My gift is to connect with these higher forces, interpret the intention, and express the reality of what’s in front of me.

Peace and harmony are important to me. Struggle and confrontation puzzles me because I know there is a better way. It feels like my purpose is that of creating peace, harmony and joy where ever I am. I instinctively see the peaceful spot in any disagreement or disharmony. My goal is to inspire others to find that spot and embrace it.

Working with passion is what I do. When I believe in something I become inspired. When I see the benefits for others, I can’t wait to inspire them. Seeing the possibilities is my gift of vision. Sharing the possibilities is my gift of inspiration.

With clear intention, I am able to create my future. I have an uncanny ability to magnetize people into my life. When I am clear, centered and balanced, I know how to manifest my destiny.

I have a natural gift of knowingness. I view my world from a vantage point of sensing the bigger picture. I become frustrated when I see people getting caught up in the small details instead of working with their destiny.

I look forward to and enjoy the sweet spot in all the things that I do. For me, quality is far more important than quantity. Connecting to the source of the matter is how I live my life.

I love the thought of helping others. My joy comes from making sure the less fortunate have their needs met. If I had my way, there would be no hunger in the world through the process of everyone sharing.

I find myself giving to others first. I feel best when everyone around me is honored with what I am able to share. I like material things, however, I find it more important to give these things away so others may feel the joy of being loved.

Taking control and managing others is a natural skill for me. I have the ability to see the big picture of a project. I develop teams of qualified people to achieve the desired goal. Weaving people, information and the proper environment together, are the keys of my success.

My goal is to be the best. My first thought is to always achieve excellence. My desire is to take control and achieve excellence. I enjoy the challenge of overcoming obstacles to achieve an elusive goal. Winning the gold medal is in my thoughts with everything I do.

It seems like people are drawn to me whenever they have a problem. Solving problems for me and others is something I’ve always been able to do. When I take control and use my logic with my intuition, I always find resolution for the issues. As the problem unfolds, I am able to tap into a wealth of information that allows me to assist myself and others.

My word is my bond. I enjoy winning and it must be done with integrity. What I admire most are people who have gained recognition through win-win outcomes. I value a handshake as much as I value a contract in any commitment I am working with. I believe integrity is the glue that can hold a business or a project together for success.

My destiny is at the helm of the ship; I am able to navigate any business opportunity or project to a successful outcome. My excellent sense of commerce, allows me to see business opportunities where others may see frustration. I understand the principles of business and I am able to assist myself and others in achieving goals.

I get excited about analyzing a subject that fascinates me. I love to use technology to create charts, graphs, timelines, grid works and maps to delve deeper into my subjects. My satisfaction comes by crunching information to interpret hidden meanings.

When I’m given a project, the first thing I do is begin my analysis of the information. Then I start to research the hidden meanings behind the analysis. I believe it’s important to dig deep into any subject in order to understand the essence of the agenda. Revealing the essence and getting to the heart of the matter is what I value most.

I live for the opportunity to look behind the façade. I enjoy studying what is not said and what is not shared to find the missing pieces. Looking at all the seen and unseen perspectives gives me a complete picture of what’s really going on. I believe there is always a hidden meaning that must be researched.

My desire is to research the old and the new. My quest is to constantly question the obvious and delve deeper into the unknown. I’ve been called a bookworm because of my voracious quest for knowledge; Research awakens my own intuition and allows me to see new perspectives that were not obvious before.

When I observe something, I not only see what I see with my eyes, I also use my intuitive eyes to see what can’t be seen. This ability allows me to see the big picture of all circumstances before me. Filling in the missing pieces is what I enjoy the most.

I love teaching people what I know. I’ve been told I am a natural teacher. Helping people by giving them my opinion seems like the proper thing to do. Sometimes I’m surprised that people may feel offended that I would suggest the obvious solution. My joy comes from planting seeds of knowledge, and nurturing them to bloom into possibilities.

I feel like I was given the gift of being a counselor. Everyone seems to come to me with their problems. I enjoy listening, giving feedback with insights and showing them the light at the end of the tunnel. It feels natural for me to help others resolve their problems. I have a deep concern for their issues and approach these issues with empathy and compassion.

I need to feel needed. I work best when I am helping others. It seems natural for me to assist those who need my help and even those who don’t need my help. For me, the reward comes when someone smiles and says “thank you, I really appreciate what you did.”

I have a serious concern about the situation our world is in. I see people unattached to their surroundings. I see conflict; I see impositions happening to people and nature. My heart feels sad. I believe there is a divine plan unfolding. My prayer is that we can all learn to live in peace and harmony and love one another.

I feel compelled to nurture those around me. When making connections with others, I can soon sense their potential. I become excited if I’m in a place where I can help people to expand and become all that they can be. Looking for the “diamond in the rough” is what I enjoy.

Whitewater rafting, diving out of an airplane or learning how to fly is the way I like to spend my time. Adventure fuels my soul. Sometimes, this can get me into sticky situations. Being the rebel has its gifts and its challenges, but I can live life no other way.

I look forward to change. It seems like most people are afraid of change. I, however, like to instigate change to see the outcome. Change is healthy. I would much rather create the change than have someone create it for me. Change keeps me on my toes and makes each day worth living.

I find myself breaking out of the norm. If someone says it can’t be done, I’m usually the first one to ask why or try to see if it can be done. The challenge is much more interesting to me than the acceptable behavior. If it wasn’t for me, I believe we would still be doing the same old things we did hundreds of years ago.

Expanding old patterns and ideas are one of the things I look forward to. To take an idea and look at the possibilities creates many new options. Taking old forms and applying change to create a new paradigm is what I excel in doing. Once the advancement has begun, an idea begins to blossom to its full potential.

I enjoy trying new things. Old ideas and patterns bore me. I like to be different. I look forward to being unusual and I may even stand out in the crowd. My ideas usually don’t blend with others. I consider myself very assertive and risk taking.

I find it important for me to know what time I start and what time I finish. I need to know that my value is appreciated and that I will be rewarded. I feel best when I have control over my life. Indecision is my nemesis.

It seems obvious to me that the solution to many problems can easily be resolved. It makes sense to me to look at any project or problem by starting at the beginning, then shift to the middle and then look at the end. What really needs to be done is to prioritize and align these three phases to have a successful outcome.

It’s difficult for me to work when things are out of place. It’s important for me to have my environment in logical order. In any situation, I always look to see how I can eliminate the chaos and arrange things in an orderly fashion.

When working on a project, I like to make sure that everything gets done properly. I feel compelled to check not only my work but the work of others to be assured that things are completed properly. I feel that I’m the only one that really watches over things and the responsibility is left to me.

I will do whatever it takes to achieve results. I feel good when a project is completed. Yes, I push myself beyond my peers but I do it for myself, not for them. My rewards come from the feelings of a job well done.

Connecting to my inner child puts me in a state of wonder. I have the overwhelming knowledge that all things are connected and living in harmony. This state of wonder spurs me on to believe that I can do anything once I know what I want.

One of my favorite adventures is to explore an art museum. I believe that art is used as a symbolic form of soul to soul communication. Our inner self is expressed through our creativity.

Creativity is my gift. Expressing this creativity is my passion. It’s important for me to express myself creatively in all the things I do. As I become confident in my creative self, people will know me through my work.

Whenever I look at a project, or a problem, I immediately shift into seeing all the possibilities. I have a sense of how today’s work will impact future outcomes. I am spontaneous and clever in connecting people, places and things for harmonious solutions.

I bring the fun to the party with my quick wit and story-telling skills. I’ve been told that I am a magnet for people that want to have fun. I can find the humor in almost every situation.

I find myself being the mediator whenever conflict arises. It’s important for me to allow people to express their feelings and then help them resolve their issues. I enjoy the process of weaving opposites into harmony.

I know I have a gift of patience. It feels natural to me to allow time for things to develop. I enjoy the process of taking the time to check and recheck to make sure that things are proceeding on the proper path. I find it more important to encourage growth than to criticize faults.

I have an acute sense of intuition. My mind is bombarded with a constant flow of messages from the people that I am connected to. Sometimes I can be overwhelmed by others feelings. Many times I’m not sure if I’m feeling their feelings or my own.

I am sensitive to my surroundings wherever I am. I have a keen sense of space, textures and energy flow. It is important for me to be surrounded by beauty and harmony. I feel best when everything is in its proper place.

What I enjoy most is finding someone that I can engage with for a meaningful partnership or relationship. My joy comes from sharing information, feelings and dreams. Finding people I can count on is what I really desire.

I enjoy the challenge of finding a new path. When I look at problems, situations or people, I excel at finding new possibilities and solutions. I believe I was born to explore, break old paradigms and push beyond the boundaries of social expectation.

First and foremost, I enjoy listening to my own drummer. Often I feel like I’m the outsider or I just don’t fit at gatherings or when working on a team. My joy comes from being unique, spontaneous and looking at things from a different perspective.

It seems like I have an unending source of creative ideas. When I see projects or problems and focus my attention, it seems to open the floodgates of possibilities. Creating or starting new projects is what I enjoy most.

Endings and Beginnings

As we move through the crossroads, endings always bring new beginnings. Many times, we see endings as disappointments. We hold on as long as we can and can’t seem to move through the crossroads. I like to see endings as graduations. When I have completed a chapter of my life, I have learned its time to let go and move on. These transitions can involve many things like careers, relationships, and even life. They were once very important but are now complete.

The story of the phoenix teaches us the lesson of endings and beginnings. In Greek mythology, the phoenix is a mythological bird that regenerates its own life. When it felt its impending death, the phoenix would ignite itself into a magnificent fire. Later, it reemerged from its own ashes, reborn. The phoenix knows that endings always inspire new beginnings. It knows when to let go!

I have learned if I can let go when it is time, endings bring a great sense of freedom. In the past, I have held on way too long and it was painful. I knew deep down that it was time, but I did not want to accept it. I did not know what my new beginning would look like, so I felt it was safer to stay at the crossroads. I also did not know how to do endings gracefully with love and compassion.

When memories show up, I reflect on what was and what will be. It makes me think about all the other chapters of my life that have ended so I could start something new. I believe all endings and beginnings are an adventure that should be celebrated.

It’s important to remember the lessons of ebb and flow, endings and new beginnings. I celebrate each day as an amazing adventure to be lived to the fullest with passion and purpose. Endings are sure to happen because a new adventure is right around the corner. Let’s celebrate!

Many people have no idea how long it takes to turn a prospect into a profitable customer. Each product and service has its own unique timeline.

It’s important to first understand your company’s operations and the prospecting timeline for successful sales within your organization. You can also develop your standard sales prospecting timeline from successful past experiences.

Begin this process by picking a recent customer that resulted in a successful sale. Using your Magnetic Sales Funnel template, break down the key activities you went through and the timelines that resulted in the successful sale.

Your goal should be to establish the specific activities that were the most time-consuming. Then you can determine a way to shorten the time spent on that particular activity. Most people are surprised to find that a couple of activities take the majority of the time.

By knowing this, you can change your strategy and create a more efficient effective process that will be more magnetic.

Activity #19 – Magnetic Sales Funnel Template

Think of a recent customer that resulted in a successful sale as you complete Activity #19. Write your happy customer’s name in the space. This keeps you connected and focused on that particular customer.

In each stage, list the activities and the time it took for each activity. Really pay attention to the resulting outcome that qualified your prospect to move through the sales funnel to the next stage of the process.

We’ve included four stages for the Magnetic Sales Funnel. Your sales process may have more stages; so customize the sales funnel to your own unique process. Be sure to write in a name for your happy customer. It will help you remember and focus on all the aspects of this successful sale.

To begin a Vision, access your desires, dreams, wishes or fantasies. What is it you want, need and desire? This is a place where logic may not understand how to achieve the results. Ask yourself, “What is it I want? What do I need? What is my burning desire? What do I dream of having or achieving? Another method to create your vision is to ask yourself, “How do I want to feel?”

Magnetic Skill Tools – Focus 4: Personal Vision Success Key

We’ve given you a new Magnetic Skill Tool – the Core Passion Focus 4. This is a personal vision success key! As you can see in the illustration to the right, everything you are connected to and everything you do is bridged in these quadrants of your life. The quadrants include Health/Wellness, Relationships, Business/Career/Financial, and Spiritual.

The Core Passion® Focus 4 is a template for balance. When any of these areas of your life is out of balance (either too much or too little), it affects the other three quadrants.

Such as, if your work life is overbalanced and overstressed, it affects your health, your relationships and your connection to your spirit.

When you understand your customer and serve your customer, your customer will respond. To learn what your customer really needs, you must watch them, talk with them, and listen to them. You must be sure you understand their concerns and overall business issues. There are two ways to view every element of your business from your customer’s perspective: Stand in their shoes and see through their eyes.

1. Stand in your Customer’s Shoes

Have you stood in THEIR shoes – literally, repeatedly? Don’t assume!

Describe your ideal customer right down to their shoes. What do they look like? What are their physical characteristics – right down to their shoes? What are their Emotional Characteristics? What do they love to do? What is their biggest problem? What do they value? What are their Employment Characteristics? What is their job title? Where do they work? How much money do they make?

Describe what your customer wants, needs, and expects. What does your customer want? What does your customer need? What does your customer expect?

Next and Back bar: use the red arrow buttons to go forward or back one step in the lesson.

Dashboard: click the white arrow on the gold app bar to drop down the dashboard of shortcuts. Click it again to hide the dashboard. The shortcuts include: Profile, Library, Core Passion Codex, Careers Signpost, and Reports

Long Menu: click the white menu icon (three stacked lines) on the left side of the gold app bar to drop down a list of information links. Click the white menu icon again to hide it.Short Menu: click the white short menu icon (three stacked boxes) on the right side of the gold app bar to drop down a list of actions. Click the white short menu icon again to hide it.Videos: click on a video to begin playing it. Click on it again to pause the playback.Scrolling: use your mouse’s scrolling button or touchpad to scroll up and down where there is more content than can be displayed on a page.

Career Seeker Lessons

Complete the Career Seeker Lessons in the Library by starting at the top of the left list (modules). Click on a module to make it turn gold.The right pane will display that module’s lessons. Complete the lessons in order by first clicking on the top lesson.Be sure to click the red NEXT arrow to advance through a lesson in the right order so you don’t miss a step.If you need to restart a module, go to the Library, select the module, then click on the lesson you were working on. Advance with the red NEXT arrow until you are where you left off.

Congratulations on completing the My Career Seeker program. You have come a long way from where you started.

Reflect on how you felt when you started the program by reading your journal. Knowing what you know now, how confident do you feel about exploring careers? Are you ready to ask smart questions as you explore, measure, and pursue the career of your dreams?

Nothing stays the same for long. When might you change your Core Passion Codex responses? Did you have a change in values or skills? Did you have a major transition in your life? Did you discover a new passion you hadn’t considered before?

For example, if you completed an internship over the summer and found that you love helping people get better at the hospital perhaps your Core Passion Code, Service is more important now and you want to change your statement ratings on Reflection Point 4.

When you change your Core Passion Codex standards, be sure to reevaluate your Career Opportunity Statements to see if they score as high as they did before.

The career market evolves quickly. Perhaps a job that didn’t exist before is available due to the wonders of technology or world changes. Is it right for you? This is a good time to measure it as a new Career Opportunity. After completing the My Career Seeker program you have a more confident point of view on which careers support you.

Career exploration is more fun when you have the right tools take with you. You have the Core Passion Codex with the Career Opportunity Statement builder, a Personal Learning Program, and a Career Readiness Plan.

Inner and Outer Journeys

The Career Seeker Roadmap is an adventure with a repeatable framework. The first step in the process begins with EXPLORE. The Inner Journey will guide you in defining yourself by exploring the questions, “Who am I? What do I want? What drives me?” The Outer Journey will guide you in defining your career by exploring the questions, “What do I want to do? Where do I find it?”In any adventure, you must stop along the way to acclimate and reflect. There are two explorations on the Inner Journey road. Each one has its own tool. You will start with the Core Passion Assessment tool to find the energy that drives you and the words that describe you. In the report, you will discover your unique gifts and the language of your inner spirit. The second exploration on the Inner Journey road uses the Core Passion Codex tool. As you travel through the six Reflection Points, a few of the things you will discover are words for your purpose, your heart’s desire, and your values.You are now ready to EXPLORE the Outer Journey which is the career exploration. The roadmap has led you to EXPLORE what you might want to do (occupation) and where you want to do it (industry and environment). You will apply what you learned about yourself by building a Career Opportunity Statement with three parts that include 1. exploring environment, 2. industry, and 3. occupation.The Career Seeker Journal will guide you in applying all the learning to your life. Be sure to complete all the journal entries as you work through each step.The Adventure continues. . .
